Privacy and cookies
The short version
We collect as little as we can get away with. If you send us an enquiry we keep what you typed so we can reply to it. We never sell your details. We only send them to a law firm if you press Match, after you have seen exactly what will be sent, and only to the one firm you choose.
Nothing that sets a non-essential cookie loads until you have chosen. If you pick "essential only", no analytics run at all.

Settle Divorce is run by Metro Farms Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16907105), registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. Metro Farms Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: [email protected].
To contact us about anything on this page, email [email protected]. That address reaches the people responsible for this site and for the data it holds.
A word about what you send us. Details about your marriage, your finances and your family are sensitive. Send us only what you need to in order to get an answer. Do not send us documents, bank statements or anything about a third party who has not agreed to it.

Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use as few as possible.

Those are the only entries in that table. Any analytics storage we use is named here, with what it stores and how long it lasts, before it is switched on.
To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will ask you again.
What the analytics actually record
If you accept, we use PostHog to count how the site is used. It runs on PostHog's European servers, and we have configured it deliberately narrowly:
- We record a small, fixed list of things: a page being viewed, the fair-split calculator being started and finished, a guide being read to the end, a link to GOV.UK being followed, the checklist being downloaded, and the checklist form being submitted.
- We do not record what you type. The fair-split calculator works entirely in your browser and none of the figures you enter are sent anywhere, to us or to anyone else. When the calculator finishes we record only a rough band, such as "somewhere between 55 and 65 per cent", never your numbers.
- Your name and email address are never sent to the analytics provider, even when you submit the checklist form.
- We do not record your screen, your mouse movements or your keystrokes. Session recording is switched off.
- We do not build a profile of you, and we do not use any of this for advertising to you.
- If your browser sends a "do not track" signal, we honour it.
If you choose "essential only", or simply ignore the banner, none of this loads. PostHog is not contacted at all, so it never even sees that you visited.
Who we share it with
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes requests to this site in order to serve it. If you accept analytics cookies, PostHog processes the usage data described above on our behalf, on servers in the European Union. If you press Match, our email provider sends your enquiry to the firm you chose on our behalf, as our processor. Beyond that we share your details with nobody unless you have asked us to, or we are required to by law.
We never sell your data. We only send it to a law firm if you press Match, after you have seen exactly what will be sent, and only to the one firm you choose. See "Matching you with a firm" below for exactly what that involves.
Matching you with a firm
If you press "Match" and choose to be introduced to a firm, we handle that differently from the rest of the site. This is what happens.
What we send. Only the enquiry you have approved on screen. You see exactly what will be sent before it goes anywhere.
What we keep. Your answers as fixed codes, your email address, the firm you chose, when you agreed and to what, and whether the email was delivered. We do not keep free text, your IP address, or device details.
Why we keep it. To pass your enquiry on to the firm you chose, on the basis of your consent.
Who receives it. The one firm you chose, and nobody else. Our email provider sends the enquiry on our behalf.
How long we keep it. The record that identifies you is deleted after 90 days. After that, only an anonymous count per firm — no email address and no answers — is kept, for 12 months.
Match data is kept apart from the analytics described above, and the two cannot be joined to each other.
A follow-up email is a separate opt-in from pressing Match. You can decline it without it affecting your enquiry.
Withdrawing consent and deletion. Every email we send you about a match carries a deletion link, or you can email [email protected]. Deleting your record removes it entirely. A non-identifying count of matches per firm — no name, no email, no answers — is kept separately and survives deletion, because on its own it cannot identify you.

Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how we use your data, say so on the site.
